Funky Pencil Rolls

I am finally able to share my 3 Pencil Roll Creations!! After seeing these on a few blogs and reading a few tutorials and thanks to my special Ninja Pants . .  I made these for a Craft Swap. One for each of the swapees little boys!

It is quilting fabric from Spotlight and I love it ..  usually the quilting fabric doesn't jump out me but all these did and were perfect!!

The first one is trains on the outside and a glorious collection of trains and cars on the inside . . this same fabric was used on the second but with a co-ordinating car fabric on the outside instead. The final roll has retro guitars with musical notes inside to finish it off. They are tied off with soft black knitted elastic.

The possiblities are endless for these rolls. .  knitting, crochet, pencils, pens . . gifts galore!!

Purple Pretty Pinafore

I must say I am totally in love with my latest dress . . Matilda shall have a few of these as tops and dresses. The square neckline is so vintage and girly . . and the little puffy sleeves scream adorable!! The neckline has gathering across the chest and small gathering on the sleeves as well. I am slowly getting the hang of gathering . . .

The neckline and bottom band are a lilac gingham and the remained of the bodice and sleeves are a deep purple . .

It does need the bottom hem and a press but I was so excited to show it off!

Little Boy Blue

I finished up this little cot quilt last night. It is only a simple one with a plain light blue backing and a thin padding between as the weather is starting to warm. I was asked to make it for someone who is pregnant with a little boy . .  I do so hope she will like it!

(Yes it needs a bit of an iron . . hehe )

Nantucket Weekend GIVEAWAY!!!!

Nantucket Weekend GIVEAWAY!!!!

The black and white checked pattern and white trimmed shorts reminded me of the classic New England look. Unfortunately, here in Pennsylvania we don't have too many lighthouses. That would have been my ideal setting. My second plan was walking down to the local docks. However, sailboats just aren't practical here so the only watercrafts to photograph were either pontoon or paddle boats. Not very Nantucket.

This giveaway is for the shirt AND the shorts. Around the neckline of the shirt I sewed a ruffled collar. I also sewed a velvet black ribbon into the waist that ties at the front. The shorts are black with two pockets on the side. Both pockets are lined with white trim as well as the ends of the leg holes. Lily looked like she was ready to run to the market with her black and canvas bag. All she needs is a baguette and head of lettuce.

Lily is fairly thin for a four-year old. Case in point, she wore one of Molly's skirts to Hersheypark....A 6-9 month skirt! So I would say that this outfit would fit a child around 2T to 3T.

This outfit is so tre chic . . very french riviera!! It would be so cute for picnics as spring and summer make their way into the Australian weather!!
